Product Safety & Care
ALL Abel's Workshop items are ethically made by small shops around the world.
Please see individual product listings for specific information regarding product origin and materials used.
Safety is our number one priority at Abel’s Workshop. We are registered with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) as a small batch manufacturer. Every item we stock is CPSC safety compliant and has been safety tested and certified by a third-party, CPSIA approved laboratory. We research toy safety and product recalls regularly to ensure we are doing everything in our power to keep our items safe and functional.
We personally inspect all materials and products that we distribute to ensure we are selling only the best to our customers. Once our items have been sold and shipped to our customers, however, Abel’s Workshop waives all responsibility and liability for the use of our products. Customers should always wash and inspect all items before using them following the care instructions below. Customers should inspect and monitor the wear and tear of their products over time, discontinuing use at the first signs of damage.
If an item appears to be damaged or faulty upon receipt, please contact us directly.
All wood used in the making of our products is natural hardwood. We do not use any wood types that are known to be toxic or irritating to children. Each listing will have the specific type of wood noted in the information section.
Any items with wooden pieces are not freezer or dishwasher safe. These items should NOT be steam sterilized, boiled or submerged in water at any time. To clean, simply spot clean with warm water and mild soap. Lay flat to dry. To keep the wood shiny and smooth in appearance, you may refinish the wood after washing with a food-grade oil such as coconut oil, olive oil , or mineral oil. To condition, simply apply the oil of your choosing and polish with a dry rag.
Please note that each of our items are created by hand. Because of this and the use of natural woods, there may be minor imperfections present in wooden items such as small divots or areas of discoloration where the wood was naturally darker. If you have concerns about imperfections with your items, please contact us directly. We want our customers to be satisfied, so we are always happy to work with you regarding any concerns.
